Description: Also known as Mountain Phacelia, Timberline Phacelia, and White-Leafed Phacelia, this perennial herb grows to a mature height of six inches to three feet. The plant is generally hairy in appearance. The leaves are mostly basal, narrowly oblong, and up to five inches long. Flowers form in coiled clusters and are white to lavender, with protruding reproductive parts.

Habitat: This plant is native to western North America and grows at elevations between 2800 and 13,000 feet.

Flowering Season: Flowers form from April through September, depending on local climate conditions.

Comments: There are about ninety species of Phacelia native to California.
