Parry's BuckwheatEriogonum brachypodum Description: This annual herb may attain a maximum height of up to about twenty inches. The stem is many-branched and may be described as skeletonlike. It has large basal leaves which may be fuzzy and gray or even slightly reddish. Flowers are tiny and bell-shaped. Habitat: Especially prevalent in the Mojave Desert, this plant grows throughout much of the desert southwest from Utah to California. Flowering Season: Flowers may form any time of the year. Comments: May be locally common or even weedy, but not always present in suitable habitats. |
